| Brandon Heath- Give me your Eyes
|
Awesome new song by Brandon Heath
http://www.brandonheath.net/
(c) 2007 Provident Music Group LLC, a unit of Sony Music Group.
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach
So often we look at the world without really seeing it. We go about our daily life without noticing those around us who may be hurting. But what would happen if we began to really see the people around us? To see their hurt and joy and pain? We would be seeing with Gods eyes.
When you begin to look at people the way that God does, you see that we are all hurt, broken, and in need of love. You begin to see the real needs around you. And when you are looking with Gods eyes, you feel compelled to help. You may not be able to help everyone, but you can certainly help someone. You may not have money, but you might have time, stuff, or skills. Ask God to show you the world through his eyes and to teach you how you can begin to help his people.
Matthew 25:35-40
For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me. Then these righteous ones will reply, Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you? And the King will say, I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!
Looked down from a broken sky
Traced out by the city lights
My world from a mile high
Best seat in the house tonight
Touched down on the cold black tile
Hold on for the sudden stop
Breath in the familiar shock
Of confusion and chaos
Are those people going somewhere?
Why have I never cared?
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach
Give me your heart for the once forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Step out on a busy street
See a girl and our eyes meet
Does her best to smile at me
To hide whats underneath
Theres a man just to her right
Black suit and a bright red tie
To ashamed to tell his wife
He's out of work
He's buying time
Are those people going somewhere?
Why have I never cared?
I've Been there a million times
A couple of million eyes
Just moving past me by
I swear I never thought that I was wrong
Well I want a second glance
So give me a second chance
To see the way you see the people all alone |

| Heath Ledger and Prescription Drugs
|
A somber look at how prescription drugs are affecting us, in particular the dangerous class of drugs called benzodiazepines. Heath Ledger was reportedly taking Xanax and Valium which are both benzodiazepines and Ambien, a Z-drug, which has similar affects to benzodiazepines. Is it possible these pills could have inflamed his insomnia and anxiety? When symptoms are not relieved or become worse, a patient can often become poly-drugged.
For more information visit http://www.benzo.org.uk. There are many support forums for those of you trying to withdraw from benzodiazepines and Z-drugs (Ambien, Sonata, Lunesta). These include http://www.benzoisland.org and the Yahoo Health Group: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/benzo/.
We are currently working on a documentary film about the dangers of benzodiazepines. We are seeking personal stories from people who have suffered from the use of doctor prescribed benzodiazepines. If you have a story to tell we would like to hear it.

| Last interview with Heath Ledger
|
Heath Ledger died January 22, 2008. Over the years I have interviewed him several times. Once for Brokeback Mountain and once for The Brothers Grimm. Over the years I have found Heath pleasant, interesting, and full of life. He has never liked the "interview process" but many movie stars do not. My last interview, however, was very different. It was for the movie I'm Not There. I must tell you that I have never seen him so unhinged and figity as he was for this interview. Many of the journalists who spoke to him also feel the same way...but we had not idea he would die within weeks. Here is the complete interview I had with him just weeks ago for his latest movie. I'm not posting this because it was a great interview, because it certainly wasn't one of my best. I am posting it so people out there can get a better understanding of Heath's state of mind just before he died. Rest in peace. |

| Heath Ledger Tribute
|
R.I.P.
1979 - 2008
The song is Hurt by Johnny Cash (A Nine Inch Nails cover)
January 22, 2008 -- Oscar-nominated Australian actor Heath Ledger died today in his SoHo apartment of an apparent sleeping-pill overdose, police said. He was 28.
Ledger was found naked by his maid and a massage therapist with whom he had a scheduled 3 p.m. appointment at his apartment at 421 Broome Street.
When they went to his bedroom at about 3:20 p.m., Ledger was lying face down and unresponsive, police sources said. Cops said sleeping pills were strewn around the bed and there was a bottle next to the actors body, police sources said.
Unable to wake him, the maid and therapist called 911 at about 3:26. Emergency workers were unable to revive the star and he was pronounced dead at 3:35 p.m.
Bottles of Diazepam and Alprazolam, both anti-anxiety drugs prescribed in his name, were found in the house, according to law enforcement sources.
Ledger's uncle and confidant, Neil Bell, said that his family was "devastated," according to close friend, LA-based private investigator Paul Baressi.
"He said the father and mother are devastated because they found out of his death through the media," said Baressi, who talked to Bell less than a half an hour after Ledger's death.
Locals in the neighborhood said Ledger was low-key.
"We always greeted each other, it's such a shock," said Julie McIntosh, 32, who works in a hair salon on his block.
It was unclear if it was an intentional or accidental death.
Ledger split last year from partner, Michelle Williams, with whom he has a daughter, Matilda.
Ledger's early career as an actor was marked by small roles in several independent features in his home country of Australia.
He broke onto the international movie scene in 1999 with his turn as the brooding high-school heart-throb who captures Julia Stiles' attention in "10 Things I Hate About You." After starring roles in "The Patriot," "A Knight's Tale," and "The Brothers Grimm," Ledger earned critical acclaim with his poignant performance as a gay cattle rancher in director Ang Lee's "Brokeback Mountain," for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor.
In 2007, he appeared in the independent film "I'm Not There," as one of many incarnations of Bob Dylan. He recently wrapped filming on 'The Dark Knight,' the sequel to 'Batman Begins,' in which he plays the villainous Joker. His most recent role was in director Terry Gilliam's 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,' which is listed as still "in production" on imdb.com.
Ledger's love life earned him as many headlines as his acting career. He has been romantically linked to such A-list starlets as Naomi Watts and Heather Graham. He has a daughter, Matilda Rose, with actress Michelle Williams. The couple, praised for their down-to-earth lifestyle in Brooklyn's Carroll Gardens, announced their split earlier this year. |

| R.I.P Heath Ledger
|
Music--Nara E.S. Posthums
((UPDATES))
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Actor Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose of six prescription drugs, with a mix of painkillers, tranquilizers and sleeping aids found in his system, officials said on Wednesday.
A law-enforcement source with knowledge of the case said a formal request for the city medical examiner's records had been filed on Wednesday, seeking to discover who provided the 28-year-old Australian with the lethal combination.
Ledger, renowned for his role as a conflicted gay cowboy in the 2005 movie "Brokeback Mountain," was found dead in his Manhattan apartment on January 22, naked and with several prescription drugs nearby.
"We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications," the New York City Medical Examiner's Office said in a statement.
"Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine," the statement said.
His death shocked film fans and fellow actors around the world and added his name to the list of movie stars who died young, like Marilyn Monroe and James Dean.
A spokeswoman for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration declined to comment but said the federal agency was committed to identifying any illegally obtained prescription drugs.
Medical experts said it was highly unlikely a single doctor would have prescribed such a mix.
"If someone has an overdose death with that kind of toxicology report, it's usually an indication that they were either doctor-shopping or purchasing medications either on the street or on the Internet," said Andrew Kolodny, a psychiatrist at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn.
SIX PRESCRIPTION DRUGS
The painkillers oxycodone and hydrocodone are opiates, which are dangerous when combined with anti-anxiety medicines like diazepam, alprazolam and temazepam, potentially causing respiratory arrest, doctors said.
Diazepam is sold under the brand name Valium and alprazolam is sold under the name Xanax. Temazepam is also used as a sleep aid and sold under the name Restoril. Doxylamine, a sleep aid and antihistamine, is an active ingredient in a number of over-the-counter medications, including NyQuil.
Ledger had said in recent interviews he was having trouble sleeping during the filming of the latest Batman film "The Dark Knight" in which he plays The Joker, a homicidal maniac. The film is due out in July.
Some published reports also said he was having difficulty dealing with his recent breakup with actress Michelle Williams, and that he badly missed the 2-year-old daughter they had together, Matilda.
The couple met during the filming of "Brokeback Mountain," for which Ledger received an Oscar nomination.
Before and after his relationship with Williams, Ledger had been romantically linked with a number of actresses and models, periodically spotted in exclusive clubs around New York.
Kim Ledger, the actor's father, said the family was humbled by the outpouring of support from fans around the world since his death and asked to be allowed to grieve privately.
"Today's results put an end to speculation, but our son's beautiful spirit and enduring memory will forever remain in our hearts," he said in a statement.
"While no medications were taken in excess, we learned today the combination of doctor-prescribed drugs proved lethal for our boy."
Some of Ledger's other film credits included "The Patriot" in 2000, "Monster's Ball" in 2001 and "I'm Not There" in 2007.

HEATH YOU WILL BE MISSED!
SONG IS BY QUIETDRIVE ( TIME AFTER TIME )
Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick and think of you
Caught up in circles confusion is nothing new
You say go slow; I fall behind
The second hand unwinds
If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you; I'll be waiting
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Sometimes you picture me I'm walking too far ahead
You're calling to me I can't hear just what you've said
You say go slow; I fall behind
The second hand unwinds
If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you; I'll be waiting
Time after time
After my picture fades and darkness has turned to grey
Watching through windows, you're wondering if I'm ok
You say go slow; I fall behind
The drum beats out of time
If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you I'll be waiting
Time after time
If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you I'll be waiting
(I will be waiting)
