The whole world watched as a Record number of voters turned out to elect 47year old Barack Obama , the first African American President with 53% of the votes to John McCains 46%.
Celebrations took place across the universe, CNN featured a Will.i.am hollogram, Jesse Jackson & Oprah cried and every rapper made a youtube obama victory speech video.
Earlier in the week in an interview with MTV, Sway asked Obama about his thoughts on banning sagging pants:
We should be focused on creating jobs, improving our schools, getting health care, dealing with the war in Iraq. "Having said that, brothers should pull up their pants. You're walking by your mother, your grandmother, and your underwear is showing"
50 Cent teamed up with Bette Midler to Launch "The Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson Community Garden" in his hometown of Queens, New York.

Senior Adult Choir Hip Hop (Short Version)

This was the opening video for our Student Fall Retreat called "You've Got Talent." Everyone is asking what inspired this. Here is goes... 1) We needed a great opening video that caught everyone off guard, and set the the tone for the weekend. 2) With this idea in mind, we thought we could use this video as a great object lesson about media choices (kinda creepy hearing your grandparents sing some of this), and 3) this has been a GREAT transgenerational culture experiment. It has totally bridged a gap with our Senior adults and our students. Hope you enjoy! |

These are really two songs in 1 but they evolved in the same FL Studio project (2 different days). That's how it goes sometimes - might have to make it into two different beats since they're so different.
They keyboard I'm using here is the Yamaha Motif XS8, which is the weighted-key version of the XS series (I'm finding I'm not a fan of weighted keys for most stuff besides piano). More on that in another video where I'll play some stuff I'm sequencing purely on the board (very different and confusing to me).
