"What Islam Says..." #1 Halloween Trick or Shirk
Halloween - Trick or Shirk Every year hundreds of thousands young children are encouraged to dress-up as devils, witches, ghosts or other types of demonic figures. This act is followed by the children knocking on doors & requesting a treat' or being tricked' as part of the Halloween festival. During the Halloween season many schools, movies, cartoons, shops etc. are dedicated in promoting Halloween as a celebration worth celebrating. As Muslims & responsible guardians of our children, it is important to take all necessary steps to safeguard ourselves & children from any practices that will lead to Hellfire (a punishment which is seventy times hotter than the fires of this world). Allah (SWT) said, "O you who believe! save yourselves & your families a Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men & stones.." [EMQ 66: 6] Origins of Halloween: Halloween is a mixture of Paganistic (idol worshipping) & Christian beliefs & practices. The Pagans believed that during the night of the 31st of October the gods would play tricks/pranks on their worshippers that would bring danger and cause fear on them. To be safeguarded from the mischief of these gods, the worshippers would offer treats to their gods in the form of sacrifices, food, gifts etc. hence the notion "Trick or Treat". In current times children as well as adults dress up as creatures of the evil, scaring people (i.e. trick) unless they give a sacrifice (i.e. a treat). For the Christians, Halloween is a celebration of all the Saints (devout Christians) that have passed away or were martyred/killed in the path of serving and establishing Christianity. Christians would spend the night before (31st October) in holding all night vigils remembering them and making special supplications for them. To summarize Halloween is: 1. Belief in evil gods 2. Imitating evil gods 3. Offering sacrifice to evil gods to be free from their mischief 4. A non-Islamic celebration/festival 5. Remembering & praying for a dead Christian activist Based upon the aims of Halloween, we as Muslim who submit only to Allah (the only true God) must ask what is the Islamic ruling on: belief in false gods, pretending to be a false god, offering sacrifices to a false god and praying for the dead from the non-Muslims? What is the Islamic ruling on celebrating Halloween i.e. dressing up in costumes, asking for treats, offering treats, decorating houses, displaying pumpkins? To believe in or participate in Halloween is an act of Shirk (associating partners with Allah) the greatest crime any person can commit, so severe it is that Allah (SWT) will never forgive the one that commits Shirk and dies upon it. For Allah (SWT) said, "Verily! Allah forgives not (the sin of) setting up partners in worship with Him, but He forgives whom he pleases sins other than that, & whoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, has indeed strayed far away." [EMQ 4:116] Any person that offers a treat on the night of Halloween will have upon him the curse of Allah (SWT), for verily the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Allah curses him who sacrifices to other than Allah." [Reported in Muslim] Those that practice any non-Islamic celebrations or imitate/copy the behavior of any people is the same as them, because the Messenger of Allah (SWT) said, "Whoever imamates a group of people he is one of them". [Reported in Abu Dawood] As Muslims we are responsible for purifying the lands from any corruption hence we are duty bound to eradicate all evil and the worst is Shirk (i.e. giving the right of Allah to another). Dear Muslims we must realize and understand that any practices, celebrations that do not come from Islam are evil, because if it was good then Allah (SWT) would have included it in our Deen. Halloween is an evil celebration which promotes worship and sacrifice to false gods, an evil that pollutes one's belief and worship to Allah. Halloween is a form of Shirk and disobedience introduced by Shaytaan in the form of a trick, enjoyment and celebration. Therefore do not participate in this evil, do not purchase any item to do with Halloween, do not let your children go knocking from door to door for treats, do not give any treats, warn your family members, warn your relatives, warn other Muslims and the non-Muslims about this great evil.

Umat e Muslima main Kufar o Shirk 1 of 6

In the name of Allah, The Compassionate The source of All Mercy ONLY ONE WAY TO SALVATION Creatures of Allah! There is only one way to avert an approaching disaster: * Have faith I Allah and His blessed prophet and cleanse your hearts of any allegiances that are false. *Continue doing good to your fellow creatures until the Day you are called home. *Invite others to the Path of righteousness with sincerity. *And endure with perseverance every test and hardship that comes your way. These are not our words, but the words of your Lord: By the declining day, surely man is in a state of loss, save those who believes and do good deeds, and exhort one another to the truth and exhort one another to the endurance (Al-Quran:103:1-5) Remember! Even slight defect in your faith is a cause for damnation . It is only the sins, mistakes and shortcomings of ours that Allah will forgive through His Mercy. Our Lord only warns us against placing another object ,idol, or ideology before Him that is ,He does not allow any kind of association (Shirk). He says this plainly: Allah forgiveth not that partners should be set up with Him :but He forgivth anything else to who He pleaseth; to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin most heinous indeed. (Al-Quran:4:48) In the saying of the blessed Prophet we read: Whosoever fills the entire earth with sins, but then dies without associating any partner to me .I will meet him with the forgiveness equal to that. (Muslim) So many nations throughout history have been wiped out because of Association (Shirk) And Lo! Even today our Muslim community has reached. the verge of annihilation because of our indulgence in it: Say (O Mohammad , to the disbelievers) : Travel in the land and see the nature of the consequences for those who lived before you ! Most of them were polytheists ( Mushrik) (Al-Quran:30:42) In other words, tell them to explore the four corners of the earth and look upon the ruins of the past. If older civilizations, which were rooted in idolatry(Shirk) can succumb to disaster and disappear, then can't we too? Our Lord testifies that for this Muslim community even as for others there is only One way to Salvation :Its true sons and daughters must arise and realize that this world is simply a way station on your journey to eternity and that each one of us is born to die. For such reasons it is imperative to live our life as successfully and count. One must, therefore: * Protect himself from every kind of Association(Shirk). * Be firm in affirming the Unity of the creator(Tauhid). * Pattern his lifestyles after the most successful man in the History, the blessed Prophet Mohammed (May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him). This is the only way one can transform the approaching disaster into certain success. If it is not done here and now then an awful fate is inevitable. Those who believed and did not pollute their belief with Shirk, for them is peace and safety and they are truly the guided ones (they are going to reach the goal) (Al-Quran:6:82) (ZULM in this verse has been interpreted as Shirk by the holy Prophet himself) (Bukahri and Muslim) Let us be perfectly clear about the meaning of Kalima (the testimony of faith ) and let there be no doubt about its implications. Then we must learn to hold ton innovation (the bida) Only Tauhid and the way of the blessed prophet can build our steps into the hereafter .Our Lord has promised to defend us if we but try with sincerity. The meaning of the first part of the testimony of faith, La ilaha illa Allay is that is neither Father nor Son. Male nor Female, two nor three. He alone may be deemed worthy of of being called: * The Creator and the Master. * The knower of the hidden and the clear. * The Omnipresent, the Watcher and Sovereign. * He is the Only in whose power are all good and ill. * He renders help, fulfills needs, lifts sorrow and attends to those who call upon Him. * He alone is to be remembered and called upon often. * All trust and hope must be placed in Him and all prayers are directed to Him alone with no effort and making intermediaries. One should humble himself physically and spiritually before him alone .Charity and goodwill must be done in His Name. * Legislation for the basics of human government and organization begins with his precepts. * All are his creature and no one has any influence or power over Him Whether living or dead. Neither graves, tombs , people, charms, symbols nor animals have any validity in his worship. All are helpless before Him. Priests, Monks, Rabbis, Sheiks, Imams, Swamis and Piers are mere suppliants with no power over him.

6 - Shirk - Fundamentals of Faith - Yasir Qadhi

In this 6th episode of Fundamentals of Faith, Shaikh Abu Ammar Yassir Qadhi talks about the exact opposite of Tawheed which is Shirk. A must see lecture for all. We Read in the Qur'an: "And how many a sign within the heavens and earth do they pass over while they, therefrom, are turning away. And most of them believe not in Allah except while they associate others with Him. Then do they feel secure that there will not come to them an overwhelming [aspect] of the punishment of Allah or that the Hour will not come upon them suddenly while they do not perceive? Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me. And exalted is Allah; and I am not of those who associate others with Him." And We sent not before you [as messengers] except men to whom We revealed from among the people of cities. So have they not traveled through the earth and observed how was the end of those before them? And the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear Allah; then will you not reason? [They continued] until, when the messengers despaired and were certain that they had been denied, there came to them Our victory, and whoever We willed was saved. And Our punishment cannot be repelled from the people who are criminals. There was certainly in their stories a lesson for those of understanding. Never was the Qur'an a narration invented, but a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of all things and guidance and mercy for a people who believe." [Surah Yusuf, Ayat 105-111] This programme talks about Tawheed, the unshakeable belief in one God, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. Islam is based on the belief of the one true God. All Prophets, Peace be upon them all, were sent with the Message of the Oneness of Allah Azza Wa Jall.

The Major Sins Series - Shirk - Abu Usama At-Thahabi 2/17

Associating partners with Allah (Shirk) Great Shirk: worshipping beings other than Allah (proof all over Quran) Small Shirk: Riya The Prophet (saw), "Should I not inform you of that which I fear for you even more than the dangers of Dajjal? It is the hidden shirk: A person stands to pray and he beautifies his prayer because he sees the people looking at him". (Sahih; Sunan ibn Majah) The major sins are those acts which have been forbidden by Allah in the Quran and by His Messenger (PBUH) in the Sunnah and which have been made clear by the actions of the first righteous generation of Muslims, the Companions of the Prophet (s.a.w.s). Allah (s.w.t) says concerning them in the Glorious Quran: If you avoid the great sins which you are forbidden to do, We shall expiate from you your (small) sins, and admit you to a Noble Entrance (i.e. Paradise) [Quran 4:31] Although the major sins are many, close to seventy according to Ibn 'Abbas (RA), the following hadeeth highlights the seriousness of such sins: The Prophet (PBUH) said: "Avoid the seven things that doom a person to Hell." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, what are they?" He said, "Associating others with Allah (shirk); witchcraft (sihr); killing a soul whom Allah has forbidden to kill, except for a lawful reason; consuming riba; consuming the property of orphans; fleeing from the battlefield; and slandering chaste and innocent believing women." [Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2615; Muslim, 89] It is therefore of paramount importance that Muslims gains knowledge about these major sins and do their utmost to avoid them. In this major sins series, Imaam Abu Usamah goes through the book "Kitaab ul-Kabair" (Book of major sins) written by the great scholar of Islam, Imaam Adh-Dhahabi (rahimahullah) (d. 748 AH). Abu Usamah uses his dynamic and captivating style to expound upon each chapter of the book correcting any weak hadeeth that may be present. Forms of Hidden Shirk

Website - http://www.MeccaCentric.com MeccaCentric - Producing videos about Islam and Muslims on DVD. Islamic lectures, speeches, talks and sermons are also available on audio CD. "Purifying Your Intentions and Actions" by Mokhtar Maghraoui Purchase the full-length lecture at http://www.MeccaCentric.com or call 1-800-607-9810 Fulfilling our obligations to the Creator means undertaking action and externalizing the faith that is harbored inside of our hearts. But simply doing an action is not enough because two conditions must be fulfilled for it to be accepted and rewarded. Is it possible that we are overlooking or forgetting those necessary conditions and thereby rendering our actions as fruitless and ineffective? This third installment in the series "In Pursuit of Peace and Happiness" from Orlando, Florida focuses on the concept of ikhlas (sincerity) and the danger of shirk (associating partners with Allah). This talk is essential for those seeking to purify their hearts because it emphasizes the foundation of this science: pure intention. And, of course, pure intention is a pre-requisite for undertaking the pursuit of peace and happiness. Imam Mokhtar also looks in-depth at the issue of bid'ah (religious innovation) which renders our actions fruitless. Other topics discussed: will partial ikhlas (sincerity) be accepted by Allah?, the various types of hidden shirk (associating partners with Allah), is it a bid'ah to celebrate the Prophet's (S) birthday?, is it a bid'ah to recite the Qur'an in a gathering upon moving into a new home?, is it a bid'ah to raise the hands in dua after prayer?, raising hands in witr prayer?, where exactly to place the hands in qiyaam, is it a bid'ah to recite the Qur'an collectively upon the death of a loved one?, how to deal with partial sincerity?, is discomfort generated by lack of results considered shirk?
